Uploading your own, replacing stock images, and what makes a photograph work on a small screen.
Your page is built with stock photography so it looks finished immediately. Every one of those is meant to be replaced with yours, and yours will almost always do better.
Replacing one
Click any photograph in the preview. You can upload a file, paste a link, or pick something already used on this site. Uploads are resized for the slot they are going into, so a photograph straight off a phone will not slow the page down.
What works
- Your actual premises, your actual team. Recognisable beats polished.
- Landscape rather than portrait for wide areas, since most of the page is wider than it is tall.
- Good light. A phone photograph by a window beats a dark one taken with a better camera.
- Nothing with text in it. Text inside an image cannot be read by search engines or resized for a phone.
A note on stock photographs of people
Puko will not present stock models as your staff or your customers, and neither should you. A visitor who recognises a stock photograph on a clinic's team page has learned something about the clinic.
